2008 Swept Away

I spent the last day of the year watching the sun set on the Irish sea.

From our perch on a rocky crag overlooking the ocean, Louisa and I watched as the '2008' that we had enscribed on the beach below was enexorably washed away by the lapping waves.

It was a little poem composed of sand, time and tide. With the last golden rays of the day and the year illuminating the green Welsh hills it was a beautiful way to see the year end and a new year begin.
